Baseball season ends with loss to Petaluma

The Trojans suffered a heartbreaking end to their historic baseball season with a loss to Petaluma with a score of 5-1 on May 20.

The Trojans struck first, scoring a single run in the top of the first. Petaluma responded with two runs in the bottom of the first. Petaluma scored one run in each of the next two innings while the Trojans couldn’t get anything else for the whole game. Petaluma scored one more run in the fifth.

The Trojans struggled on offense, getting a total of three hits altogether, coming from David Colon and Braden Spade. Colon also had one RBI, and Anthony Mares had one run. Pitcher Scott Baldwin finished with an ERA of 2.33, and Riley Eagan finished with an ERA of 3.50. This loss eliminates the Trojans from the NCS playoffs.

“I’m most proud that we won our league for the first time in over a decade,” Owen Seidel said when reflecting on the past season.

Although it was a tough finish, this is a season that the Trojans should be proud of, getting their first 20-win season in more than 20 years.
