CVHS badminton continues winning streak
As CVHS continues its undefeated streak, the Trojans secured another impressive win against San Leandro High, 14-1, at their home game on April 17.
The team showcased strong performances across doubles and singles matches all over the courts.
A total of 15 varsity games were played, each split into five different categories: boys singles, girls singles, boys doubles, girls doubles, and mixed doubles.
During the game, sophomore team captain Arielle Fong and sophomore player Jasmine Pham teamed up for the girls double match.
Both have been on the team since their freshman year, making them experienced players. They worked well together during the match, showing excellent teamwork and communication.
Winning the game by a great lead of 21-5 in both sets, they easily defeated the San Leandro Pirates.
“Me and my partner’s double rotation has drastically improved since the beginning of the season. I’m very proud of her improvement and hope we can continue winning together next year,” said Fong.
Another strong pairing was sophomore Ryan Huang and junior Evan Lau, who played boys’ doubles and showed great teamwork.
Winning the game 21-17 and 21-14, Huang and Lau scored another point for CVHS.
“Mentally locked in, preparing for the next point,” said Huang.
With only a few games left in the season, CVHS hopes to keep its undefeated streak alive as it heads into upcoming matches.
