Trojans make swift victory versus Encinal

The CVHS varsity girls volleyball team cruised to an easy victory against the Encinal Jets on Sept. 21.

The Trojans swept the Jets, winning all three sets. They dominated the first set, winning 25 to 15, then eventually clawed their way to winning the second set 25 to 21. Finally, CVHS closed out the game in quick fashion, winning 25 to 13.

“Honestly, I feel like our team could have played a lot better, but overall, we pulled out the dub, so I can’t be mad at the team for that,” said senior Avery Bland.

Combined with a big win against Berkeley the night before, CVHS moved up to a 4-0 record on the season in league games, with their eyes set on hosting a playoff game for NCS.

“It would be really cool to [host] a home [playoff] game [because] we haven’t had a home game for NCS since before I went here,” commented coach Maggie del Grande. She arrived in 2021 to begin coaching for the team.

Since then, CVHS has won against Bishop O’Dowd and Alameda.
