Olympian Drawing/Illustrations Winner: “Blinding Star”

The Olympian congratulates senior Alexa Esqueda, Winner in Drawing/Illustrations, for their piece “Blinding Star.”

“In this piece, I wanted to express the unity of people being captured in sight, whether it be in fear or admiration,” Esqueda said. “The celestial background of our lives and the fluttering thoughts of meekness and size in comparison pains the teary-eyed face to look towards it. As said in ‘The Secret History,’ ‘Beauty is terror.'”
