King event planned: “Do what is right”

Generally, on Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday, there are various in person gatherings where community members get together to celebrate Dr. King’s great work. However, in light of the coronavirus, Castro Valley Unified School District has put together a Zoom celebration on Monday, Jan. 18, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The event’s theme is “Dr. King’s Message Today: From Civil Disobedience to Anti-Racism.” The event will include the reading of King’s “Letter from Birmingham Jail,” community discussion, and student speakers.
