“Jujutsu Kaisen” has viewers on the edge of seats

From disturbing monsters to the battle of sorcerers against curses forged from negative emotions, “Jujutsu Kaisen” has it all. Recently, the anticipated fight between the strongest—Gojo Satoru versus Sukuna—has begun leading to many anticipating the outcome of the battle.

“Jujutsu Kaisen,” a Japanese manga by Gege Akutami, has risen to popularity and is available on various platforms such as Crunchyroll, YouTube, Funimation, and Amazon Prime Video. We follow our main character, Yuji Itadori, on his venture to exorcize himself.

Through this battle, I went through the suspense of the fight, rooting for my favorite character to win. Namely, Satoru, a man shown to be majestic and above all. Although I enjoyed their skirmish, at times, I felt the fight was rigged with plot armor. However, it was still enjoyable to an extent, especially with the build-up Akutami created over the multiple chapters.

Prior to this, Satoru had been sealed in a box and had only begun his return after the rampage and deaths of differing companions. For context, the number of fingers give an estimate to Sukuna’s strength as they provide power and as the king of curses, he is a monster with four arms. It’s also stated he has 20 fingers, five per hand.

Satoru has stated in a dialogue with Itadori, “If Sukuna regains all his power, he might cause me a little trouble. But, I would still win.” Which may serve as potential foreshadowing. The fight is still ongoing as readers cheer against the opposition, latching on to the suspense provided as they read. Luckily, for those who are impatient, Jujutsu Kaisen has recently started uploading chapters every week, a great change from the previous uploads every month.

The audience rating summary marked Jujutsu Kaisen for four stars. Personally, I would give Jujutsu Kaisen an easy five stars.
