CVHS DECA hosts a talent show every year for students to showcase their gifts and raise money to participate in competitions as well as to fundraise for a foundation that supports breast cancer awareness.
This year’s show on Nov. 17 offered a variety performances such as dancing, singing and improv. Contestants won awards such as best singer, best dancer and people’s choice.
“It was pretty awesome to win my first award and the show was a lot of fun. Everyone was very open minded and welcoming to the performers so we had a really great crowd,” said senior Anjali Asha Prasad who won best singer.
Best dance went to Urbanize, which had the crowd dancing along with them and chanting their names during their incredible performance.
“I think that our whole group felt good because all of the people in our club were new and it was their first performance so the felt really excited that we actually won,” said Jailiah Brooks, an Urbanize officer.
The people’s choice award went to senior Jackie Massey and senior Ashley Jones who did a hilarious act of dancing dressed as a ghost and a shark.
Overall the show was organized very well by DECA members and Michelle Stephens, DECA’s advisor and marketing teacher. Congrats to all of the winners and good job to all of the members and performers who really did an amazing job.
Like DECA members say “it’s just business.” In this case, it’s just talent.
