Boys Wrestling Team Impresses at First Tournament
The wrestling tournament hosted by CVHS turned out well for the boys wrestling team on the weekend of Dec. 7. Putting their best efforts in, they took fifth out of 15. Their hard work resulted in a record of 3-2, beating California High School, Freedom High School, and Clayton Valley High School.
“Our team did good, but we’re a young team. We’re definitely improving,” said senior Keanu Calderon.
The Trojans lost to Foothill and Oakridge High. Nevertheless, coach Josh Wheeler was proud of their efforts.
“It’s a team with a lot of potential. I think they’ve done a lot of work, and there’s room for growth. They’ll improve throughout the year and get better. They just need to keep working hard, like they do,” said Wheeler.
This was the first tournament of the year for the boys team.
