Trojans race to state meet

Trojans Nicole Anthony and Carter Mackey raced to high finishes at the North Coast Section Meet of Champions on Nov. 23.

Castro Valley High’s top runners each qualified for the California Cross Country State Championships at Woodward Park in Fresno on Nov. 30.

Anthony finished fifth in the Division I girls race in a personal-record time of 18 minutes and 2 seconds. The girls team finished sixth with 152 points.

Mackey finished second in the Division I boys race for the second straight year in 15 minutes, 28 seconds. The boys finished 14th overall with 355 points.
