Trojans volleyball starts NCS with a crushing victory

CVHS Trojans boys varsity volleyball team emerged victorious after a grueling battle against the Amador Valley Dons, clinching a 3-0 win in the quarterfinals of the 2024 North Coast Section Championships. The match was nothing short of intense, with each set pushing the players.

“A lot of guys stepped up, everybody did their role. We were really consistent throughout the game. I wanna shout out Max, my boy stepped up after not playing a couple games,” said Michael Ly, one of the key players of the Trojans, highlighting the team efforts.

Despite a nail-biting first set ending 30-28 and a closely contested second set at 27-25, the Trojans maintained their composure. By the time the third set rolled around, they were in their element, dominating with a decisive 25-16 victory.

“I think I stepped up for the team. Everybody has a role, and I had to do my role, and I did whatever I could,” Ly commented.

With their eyes set on the next challenge, the Trojans are gearing up to face the Liberty Lions on May 7 at 7 p.m. in the CVHS gym.
