Mustangs run over Trojans

The boys varsity basketball team took a hard loss to Monte Vista, led by former CVHS coach Nick Jones. It was an overtime game, 59-52, in the North Coast Section Division I boys basketball quarterfinals on Friday, Feb. 27.

During the first quarter, the Trojans lead by one point and by the second quarter the lead was increased to five points. By the end of the first half the score was 32-26 with Monte Vista in the lead. The Trojans remained resilient and got the score tied at 42 during the third quarter.

During the final minutes of the game the Trojans were ahead until Mustang Wilson LaShells tied the score with 49 seconds left, which led into overtime. Trojan Lawrence Johnson managed a three-pointer which put the Trojans in the lead. However LaShells stole the game back from the Trojans yet again, eventually leaving the score at 59-52.

The team finished the year with 17 wins and 10 losses.
