Swalwell faces challenger Kruttiventi in House race

The Congressional race between incumbent Representative Eric Swalwell and challenger Vin Kruttiventi is an important battle that includes us, constituents of California’s 14th District. Both candidates are well known for unique reasons but it always dials down to the classic battle between Democrats and Republicans.

The House of Representatives is one of the most important aspects of our government and the members representing us as a whole is an important matter to everyone.

However, knowing about both of these candidates and voting them into office is just as important. This also brings the question into mind, do we really know these candidates?

Swalwell did not grow up in a typical Democratic household. Instead, he was born in rural Iowa and raised by two Republicans in Pleasanton.

Swalwell’s father was a police officer and his mother was a small business owner. As he ventured through life, he received a Division One soccer scholarship, allowing him to become the first in his family to go to college.

After a long road, Swalwell would seek election and win California’s 14th district in 2012, a seat he has held since.

Kruttiventi is a newer face to the race. He is an entrepreneur in our district, has focused on running his non-profit organizations.

Once Kruttiventi enters office he plans on uplifting and empowering small businesses, restoring fiscal stability, maintaining energy independence, ensuring that every child has a first class education, and securing our southern border are some of Kruttiventi’s priorities when it comes to his plans in office.

One has been our representative for years, and the other is attempting to step in and make his mark in Congress.
