No Fault Found in The Fault in Our Stars

Over the summer, I had the pleasure of experiencing the humorous, yet romantic and heartfelt, touching movie, The Fault in Our Stars, adapted from the book written by John Green. The movie takes you through a range of different emotions as you experience the unforgettable journey of Hazel Grace and her friends who struggle to overcome the battle of cancer.

Although I had not taken the time to read the book before the movie came out, I immediately rushed to the bookstore after having watched the movie to buy my own personal copy of the story that greatly impacted my heart. Not only had the movie opened my eyes up to the beauty of the world, it also taught me to cherish the little things we have in life.

Hazel Grace, played by Shailene Woodley, wasn’t like any other teenager, having an oxygen tank as her companion, until she met Augustus, played by Ansel Elgort. After meeting, Hazel and Gus become very close and understand each other the way no one else could. Together, they explore the funny, memorable, and sometimes cruel reality of life and being in love.

Before watching the movie, I didn’t truly know what the story was about. I simply went in wanting to watch some type of romantic movie. After the movie, however, I realized it was more than just a chick-flick, and I definitely did not expect to come out bawling.

I would recommend this movie if you are interested in a well-rounded emotional movie that will have you hooked from beginning to end!
