K-Pop Club bonds members

Groups of students dance their way to the spotlight with great energy and smiles on their faces. Whether they’re performing for an audience or practicing for fun, the K-Pop club is always sure to brighten up the room.

This welcoming community allows passionate students to explore South Korean culture and immerse themselves in the world of K-Pop. It offers everyone a friendly space to bond over their love of Korean music and dance choreography, and even photocard trading.

“I love that I made a lot of friends that I can be myself around without being worried about being made fun of for my interests while also bonding with them over these similar interests,” said President Karina Tison.

She believes any CVHS student can join the club and share their enthusiasm with others if they ever feel uncomfortable to do so elsewhere.

Tison continues, expressing her appreciation for the supportive environment the club provides to students. “I think K-Pop Club is important to the CVHS community because it gives K-Pop fans an opportunity to be themselves around people with similar interests without fear of being made fun of or criticized,” she said.

Although K-Pop isn’t the most highly regarded topic to many, the K-Pop club proves them wrong with the smiles they bring to not only the members’ faces, but also to audiences as well, especially with their outstanding performances at Culture Fest

“I think everyone worked really hard and we all did really well,” said club member Jacob Giang.

Giang is grateful for what the K-Pop club does for the community, and how it offers him a space to be himself and do what he loves.

“Taking on the role of president interested me because I’ve had a strong love for K-Pop and I love interacting with other K-Pop fans. I wanted to share the experience of making friends with K-Pop fans with CVHS by creating this club,” Tison added.

The K-Pop club seeks to improve our school by offering students a supportive fellowship in their love for Korean culture, and to support them throughout all of their passions in music and dance choreography.
