TA’s in the office become Door Decorating Champions

On Dec. 11 the well awaited door decorating contest judging took place. This year CVHS had twenty-six classes who participated in the door decorating contest. While each door displayed its own unique style room 753 came in third place while room 402 won second place.

“We have a small class, so it took a lot of effort but it was fun to see their creative side come out,” commented Yardley Mcneill teacher of the door who won second place.

Despite the close competition the front office came in the lead with a spectacular design that recreated the magic of radiator springs from Disneyland. The TA’s demonstrated their innovativeness as they used paper plates to make air filters and hubcaps.

Jenessa Spade from the main office commented, “It is really fun for the TA’s in the office and gives them a chance to showcase their creativity.”

As the holiday season approaches CVHS campus is immersed in the bustling of studying for finals while simultaneously managing other activities leading up to the end of the first semester. The campus is filled with students embracing themselves for the long stretch of finals they have to take prior to enjoying their break. Despite the general hecticness that comes along with the approach of the end of the semester CVHS students and staff find a way to add a touch of the holiday spirit and infuse it onto campus life.

The door decorating contest is a festive challenge between different classes on campus and even administrators in the office. The lively competition adds a spirit of competitiveness and hikes up enthusiasm. Classes also take different approaches in their design. Some choose to make theirs funny while others attempt more complex designs.

Junior Andy Huynh’s class participated in the door decorating contest and he commented, “It was fun and my classmates enjoyed it. I think our door turned out really cool.”

While some classes choose not to participate others jump in with a fierce determination to win. Ultimately it is a festive and fun way to lighten the mood before finals and embrace the holiday spirit.
