Actress returns home to perform hit play
Direct from Off-Broadway, Castro Valley native Anna Khaja brings her powerhouse one-woman show to Castro Valley.
Khaja will perform “Shaheed: The Dreams and Death of Benazir Bhutto,” the acclaimed play that she also wrote, at the Center for the Arts on Saturday, March 15 at 7:30 p.m.
Through the monologues of eight characters including Bhutto and Condoleezza Rice, Khaja explores the minutes before Bhutto’s death. Bhutto’s life and death resonate far beyond the boundaries of Pakistan and help shed light on the current political scene.
Khaja graduated from Castro Valley High School in 1992. You may recognize her from TV’s True Blood and many other television shows and films.
