“Just a Kiss” the romance song of the decade
“Just a Kiss” by Lady Antebellum is a slow melodic song that emphasizes the idea of taking love slowly, one step at a time. Upon hearing this song, I was blown away by how the voices of singers Hillary Scott and Charles Kelley blended together to create this beautiful song. Their soft voices made me want to just sway to the music.
I find it really touching that this song talks about a slow love, the kind that lasts forever; you don’t see this kind of love a lot anymore. This song also reminds us of what a true relationship should be like.
You can hear and feel the love radiating off this song. There are so many emotions behind this song that it almost made me cry. I was hooked when these lyrics came up:
Be the one I’ve been
Waiting for my whole life
Even though Hillary Scott and Charles Kelley are the singers you hear throughout this song, you shouldn’t dismiss Dave Haywood, the pianist, guitarist, and background singer of the band; he is the one that created this beautiful piece that went along with the sweet voices of the singer.
Thanks to every member of the band, they were rewarded by being nominated for the 51st Grammy Awards and took home the title “Best Country Music by Duo or Group.”
“Just a Kiss” was first presented on American Idol on May 5, 2011, and has become a huge hit since then. This song has been replaying in radio stations over and over again; people just can’t get enough of it. Lady Antebellum’s albums are being sold at your local stores; go check it out!
