Car show showcases students’ cars

The CVHS car show is held every year by the auto class and was held this year on May 1 at the quad during lunch. A large variety of cars were showcased, from old cars, race cars, new cars, and so much more.

Senior Nico Nappi brought his 1991 Nissan 300 ZX. “The car came from the factory with a twin-turbo V6, a five-speed, and in the 90s it got a body kit with it,” said Nappi. Nappi worked on his car after getting it, “I did some cosmetics, got a custom steering wheel, leather, and carbon fiber to go on the car,” added Nappi. Nappi’s car was passed down from his grandfather to his uncle and finally to Nappi. “My grandfather brought it new in 1991, then it went down to my uncle and he drag raced with it, and now I have it.”

Junior Andy Arias brought a 1965 Chevy wagon. “I brought a 1965 Chevy Station Wagon, some interesting features about this car are the power steering and its comfortable to drive in even though it’s from 1965,” said Arias. “Something I like about the car is the two rows of seats and can fit lots of people.”

Gary Arias, Andy Arias’s grandfather, brought in a 1932 Ford Roadster and was the winner of last year’s competition. “Some unique feature about my 1932 Ford Roadster is that it has a handmade top that can come off, made of aluminum. With full suspension in the car,” said Arias. “I’ve had this car for 20 years now and haven’t had any maintenance since I finished the car,” added Arias.

Senior Wyatt Traski brought his Toyota GR86. “HKS titanium cap back, and a carbon fiber spoiler,” said Traski. “The next modification I plan on doing is tinting, getting new wheels, and hopefully coilover shocks as well as turbo,” added Traski.
