“Rampage” hits theaters

The movie “Rampage” is an extraordinary story of Davis Okoye (Dwayne Johnson) and his unbreakable bond with George, an intelligent silverback gorilla that has been in his care since birth.

The premise of the movie started in 1993 when scientists first started to research genetic editing. Now decades later, energy scientists have made remarkable breakthroughs in DNA manipulation.

A genetic experiment mutates a gentle gorilla, George, into an enormous raging animal. All animals seem to be mutating to become much larger and aggressive than they are;  researchers can’t even cage some of them. George is growing at a size that can not be controlled and is going crazy by destroying things and letting out anger.

One day an experiment goes wrong and sends genetically modified particles raining down on the San Diego Zoo. This causes all of the animals in the zoo to become uncontrollably untamable. The scenes of the animals destroying everything in their paths were in an amazingly high quality.

While these new predators are destroying everything in their path, Okoye teams up with a discredited genetic engineer to secure an antidote.

He fights his way through a battlefield not to only stop a global catastrophe but to save George who was once his friend. The battlefield scenes are also very visually impressive as George flies through the air and attacks his prey. The best battle scene was when George fought against the giant crocodile and the giant wolf.  The storyline was cute because of Okoye’s and George’s friendship and the companionship between them.

I would very much recommend watching “Rampage.”
