Girls varsity tennis off to a great start

The CVHS girls varsity tennis team is off to a running start in their season defeating American High School’s Eagles 4-3 on Aug. 30, then defeating Washington High School’s Huskies 6-1 on Aug. 31.

Rachel Dong dominated on both days of matches, crushing her opponents 6-1, 6-1, and then 6-0, 6-0.

Singles player Anya Mortensen played on both days also beat her first opponent, 6-4, 6-2, and her second opponent 6-2 for both sets.

Elena Lottich and Lauren Leong both came in with wins against the Huskies.

For doubles, Samantha Lee and Lauren Fung were victorious as well as doubles team Alex Tam and Tania Beringer against their American High School opponents.

Doubles team Victoria Vitton and Riley Powers as well as Sammie Lee and Samantha Cheung were victorious Aug. 31 against Washington High School.

Overall, the CVHS tennis team is off to a great start with three wins and no losses.
