Donald Trump can absolutely not be president of the United States
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump cannot be president of the United States. Trump has continuously proven himself unreliable with misleading remarks and references, and is the worst presidential candidate I have ever seen.
Trump stands strong on his bigoted perspectives. Since the beginning of his campaign, he has expressed his prejudices on topics like immigration and national security. The points he made, such as “We need to build a wall,” made him unpopular with the foreign population of the United States. He has especially been insulting the reputation of Mexicans who have immigrated to the U.S. in search of work and protection of their rights.
As the child of Mexican parents, I find that Trump is ignorant, racist, and narcissistic, disqualifying him from being president of the U.S. Trump and his supporters have used a bigoted attitude when dealing with immigrant affairs. When asked about his plans for the immigrant population in the U.S during a May 4 interview with Lester Holt, Trump declared that “They’re all gonna be deported.” The next day, he shamelessly posted a picture on Facebook of him eating a taco bowl, captioned “Happy #CincoDeMayo! The best taco bowls are made in Trump Tower Grill. I love Hispanics!” Was that supposed to be a joke?
Trump is not just a hypocrite and a demagogue, but also a dangerous inspiration for other bigots. His racist views have apparently inspired hate crimes. Brothers Scott and Steve Leader violently attacked a homeless Latino man in August of 2015. Scott Leader told the police that their justification for the crime was that “Donald Trump was right, all these illegal immigrants need to be deported.” Leader’s comments prove that Trump has influenced the weak-minded to believe everything he says. His job as president would be to keep the country safe and stable, not to inflict violence amongst the people. He is already manipulating the minds of his supporters and leading them to behave irrationally, making them a danger to others. Imagine what would happen if he held the most powerful position in our country.
We need a president who is willing to protect the union of our nation, someone who protects the foundation of the U.S. A prejudiced chauvinist like Trump will do us no good.
First off, I’d like to say that this article is poorly written. Most of the information here is incorrectly stated or said with little to no knowledge on the subject. Trump isn’t against any foreign immigration into the United States. Second, Mr. Trump doesn’t want to deport any of the foreigners that came here legally, only the ones that came illegally. Third, many people think Hillary’s record is perfectly clean. However, she has had multiple FBI investigations, corruption, and multiple harassment allegations. I know I’m responding to this well after the election, but I felt the need to express my opinion and first amendment right.
I am neutral on this topic because I do not like Trump or Hillary.
The announcement of Donald Trump’s candidacy was a shock to many. Even from the beginning Trump was thought of as a joke. There are slim requirements in which one needs to meet in order to become the President of the United States. Trump has met all those said quotas without fail, those only opposed his announcement due to the nontraditional background he posses. He is a businessman with no political background. This may in fact be more of benefit than a drawback.His successful business affairs may prove of use to the economy. We need someone with that economic stability controlling the wealth and standing of this country. And if that means loopholes and grey areas for beneficial money, then by all means, use the system to your advantage.In the elections preceding this one, our presidents have housed similar roles in our country before their inauguration and not much has changed from election to election. Though I am not one to change tradition or an already working system, this could be our chance to tackle underlying problems all over the United States while keeping our old precedents. No one seems to comprehend that not every part of our law system will change in the event of his election. We will still be under the same state and federal laws. Our system is built in such a way where is to not give one person dominating power. Yes I understand he may be able to change things already in place but it will not he his sole decision. We still poses the power of our government. Many of his points and concerns within our country are correct and are constantly over looked by bias, overprotective people. People are to concerned with his policies that he aspires to achieve but personally I think many are great. Illegal Immigration has be a chronic rapidly increasing event that is been detrimental to our country. His actions toward this goal have actually been the only ones this country has seen in a very long time. I can see how those in opposition of Trump view his goal of a wall is extreme but Hilary is on the contrary and is extreme in my view. By letting anyone into this country that ever so wishes then we defeat the purpose of having the rights and freedoms that we gave our citizens. By neglecting the fact to protect “our” citizens and ours alone then there are no rights at all. And I may be talking out of turn here but the effects of other countries’ failing governments or radical groups contributing to the devastation that causes the rapid influx of people to this safe heaven, are not in direct correlation to any actions taken by the US. We established our government on strong grounds to prevent such events to occur here. Our record for homeland security has stayed relatively clean building this reputation of free safe security for anyone who needs it. That does not mean it does not get misinterpreted. Freedoms given by this country are to the people who are law biding. If you are here illegally, without the proper paperwork, then you are braking the law, therefor the freedoms immigrants so long to have do not apply to. Furthermore defeating the purpose of coming illegally, when it only makes things more difficult for everyone. Illegal immigrants should be stopped from where they chose to come from. I do believe Trump is wrong in neglecting to acknowledge the illegal immigrants from other countries around the world, though the sheer numbers of those immigrating from Mexico are more than enough to outweigh that argument. I am not objectified nor in favor of either candidate for anyone comment or action one may or may not have done or said, nor am i able to even vote in this upcoming election, I am merely a person who wishes, for those who chose to focus on one aspect of a candidate and cast their vote solely on that reason alone to take a moment and realize the decision you make should be the best one weighed out by every detail. This formula can be applied to any circumstance weather it be in government or not, do not be bias to your situation and think for yourself do not follow crowds.
I agree with your point. Although it would be flawed for anyone to pick a presidential candidate solely based on their words rather than actions or policy, there comes a line that shouldn’t ever be crossed by someone running to be the leader of the free world, let alone a human in general.
You are very correct that Trump had said that he would deport immigrants. However, whom he was really targeting were the undocumented immigrants. I think legalizing undocumented immigrants is not acceptable. By doing so, many legal immigrants, including my family, who did many hard work and waited very long to enter the US would be irritated. I agree with you that his opinion on Mexican immigrants did hurt many Mexicans, but I don’t think deporting illegal immigrants is considered a “bigoted perspective”. He is simply strengthening US’s national security, which is what any President of the US should be doing.
I think this writer started a conversation about a great topic that brings awareness to a lot of people. I also agree that Trump should not be our next president. Racism is still a persevering issue within the nation, and Trump will only make it worse. How can he be president if he is not fair to different types of people?
I think Donald Trump wanting to deport all illegal aliens is a great goal for him to set. The illegal alien population in our country hurts us tremendously. We should also beef up border patrol to prevent future illegals coming. A wall may be a bit extreme, but some action is better than none. Trump should be our next president because he is a businessman who understands how the economy works. He will stimulate it a lot better than Clinton would if she became our next president.
