More victories for Olympian staff!

The Olympian claimed six awards in an annual competition of the Journalism Education Association of Northern California.

Senior Tim Pak won an award for his column, “Separation by generations.”

Senior Matt Barney was honored for a sports photo of long jumper BriAnna Miller.

Junior Melody Moteabbed won an award for her photo from the CVHS musical “Bye Bye Birdie.”

 

 

 

Graduate Yoon Jung was honored for her hand-painted nameplate from The Olympian’s 2011 senior issue.

And senior Andie Smith won two honors. One recognized her article about wrestlers and weight loss and the other was a first-place prize for her 2011 political cartoon about LGBT equality.

“The kids deserved these,” said Olympian advisor Matt Johanson. “The awards reflect the hard work and talent of our entire staff.”
