“Guys and Dolls” takes the stage

Award winning musical “Guys and Dolls takes the stage at CVHS starting opening night on April 20 until April 29. Together, student actors, singers and musicians have worked hard to bring the story to life.

Students perform as actors, singers, and musicians in a rigorous rehearsal schedule and have made many sacrifice.

“We’re so lucky to have the opportunity to take part of this production; while it can be a lot of work, the musical is well worth it and extremely rewarding,” said lead actresses Maddy Albright.

On the Friday and Saturday performances, the curtain lifts at 7:00 pm, and Sundays offer matinee performances starting at 2:00 p.m. All shows are located at the Center for the Arts (CFA).

The  “Guys and Dolls” storyline features a dramatic combination of gambling and love that will keep you on the edge of your seat for the entirety of the performance.

“‘Guys and Dolls’ is a classic show that is fun for everyone,” instrumental music director Steven Hendee told The Olympian. “It’s got so many great songs in it, everyone will want to sing along.”

  • The play was overall a great experience. I could truly see all the hard work and effort that was put into every scene when it came to the acting, dancing, and singing. The actors did a great job really interpreting the emotions of their characters, which really helped me understand them better and the plot of the play much more. I honestly enjoyed every moment of it. Fantastic job!
